ETYMOLOGY

Word Biology has been derived from Ancient Greek word "Bios" meaning "life" and "Logia" means "Branch of study" means The study of life is called Biology.

DEFINITION OF WORD

Biology is the natural science in which we study about living organisms , and their life with physical structures and their evolution .It cover many fields such as Anatomy, Physiology, Morphology and origin.

HISTORY

In earlier time science was known as philosophy . It was studied in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indian subcontinent and China . However the modern biological study was traced in Ancient Greece.

Branches of Biology

Biology has been divided into two parts

1- Zoology

2- Botany 

                                Zoology

In this branch of biology we study about Animals and Humans and their life . It covers area from physical structure to cellular structure of a body.

                                 Botany

This branch of biology is also called plant science or Phytology 

In this branch we study about plants their life and structure.
